How much is enough

Dear Editor,

In regard to the alcohol limits the esteemed scientific panel made a recommendation for states to lower the blood-alchohol concentration threshold from 0.08 to 0.05, this would put bars and clubs out of business.

There is an alternative to drinking an alcoholic beverage, that is to offer nonalcoholic beer. Some bars and clubs have it. Others do not have it. If they do have it, they don’t advertise it. The recommendation for drinking alcohol is one drink per day for a man and zero drinks per day for a woman.

By the way, if you are pulled over and convicted of DUI on your first offense, you are required to have an ignition interlock put in your vehicle. As far as I know, Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville does not make nonalcoholic beer. Maybe now they should start. If you drink alcohol above the recommended amount, it raises your blood pressure and also elevates your cholesterol.

Just my thoughts,
