Man charged with indecent assault

A Lehighton man has been charged with the indecent assault of a teenage girl.

Kim Kershner, 51, faces charges of corruption of minors, indecent assault without consent of other, and indecent assault person less than 16 years old.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Leo Petrucci of the Pennsylvania State Police:

Petrucci received a report of suspected child abuse and neglect from Carbon County Children and Youth Services.

The report identified the victim as a 14-year-old girl, who was interviewed by a Children and Youth Services caseworker, and said that sometime last year, Kershner touched her inappropriately

Kershner is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10 a.m. March 2 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.

He remains incarcerated in the Monroe County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.
