Two charged with drug counts

Nesquehoning police have charged two individuals with drug-related counts following an investigation.

Charged were Nicole R. Raposo, 33, of 25 Andrewsville St., Lansford, and Jeremy Neil Tobin, 39, of 401 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning.

Raposo was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and Tobin with possession of a controlled substance — fentanyl, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to officer Timothy Wuttke, over the course of several months at the end of 2017 and the beginning of this year, police conducted a narcotics investigation involving Tobin’s residence. On Jan. 18, a search warrant was obtained for the residence, and on Jan. 19, it was executed at 10:25 a.m.

Borough police along with other agencies searched the residence.

Located in the home were Tobin and Raposo. Also found were numerous paraphernalia items, including empty heroin bags, needles, spoons, Q-tips and a bag containing a white powdery substance.

Tobin admitted the bag of white powdery substance was his. Raposo admitted a purse found, with needles in it was hers. As a result of the search the charges were filed.
