Electric cars can now charge in Albrightsville.

Smith Partnership the owner and operator of Pine Point Plaza and Carwash in Albrightsville has installed three electric car charging stations. The plaza is located at the intersection of Routes 903 and 534. The two Tesla Destination and one universal charging stations are located at the carwash.

The stations were installed recently and are operational and ready to be used. According to Barbara Franzosa, of Smith Partnership. The universal charger can accommodate vehicles such as the Chevy Volt and the Nissan Leaf.

According to Franzosa electric vehicles can travel up to 250 miles on a charge. With the convenience of a local charging station, visitors to the Poconos will be able to charge their cars.

“While the car is charging at the Pine Point Carwash, the owners can shop, get something to eat or visit the bank, post office or library/visitors center right there at the Plaza,” Franzosa said.

“We feel this will be a convenience and a draw for vacationers to the Poconos,” said Jim Smith of Smith Partnership.
