The event will feature a DJ and a special appearance by Tux the Penguin, the mascot for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey team, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

To preregister or obtain information, visit www.sjracademy.org and click on the “Polar Plunge” tab, or call Kathy Goff, 570-325-4052. Check out the Facebook page at “SJRA POLAR PLUNGE.”

Weatherly will also be hosting a polar plunge on Feb. 3 at the Eurana Park pool.

Each $20 entry fee will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Weatherly Pride Relay for Life team and the Weatherly Winter Recreation Program. Spectators will be able to vote for their favorite plunger with a $1 contribution.
