Jim Thorpe man lands in jail after trying to see daughter

A Jim Thorpe man landed in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville last Thursday morning after causing a commotion at the Tamaqua Area Elementary School.

Francesco Pavia, 45, of 226 North St., went to the school on Boyle Avenue at 11:37 a.m. and was denied entry. Pavio, who had been told repeatedly by the school’s former principal to stay away from the school, told principal James J. Fasnacht that he wanted to see his youngest daughter. He refused to leave when asked to do so.

Pavio was charged with two counts of defiant trespass and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned before District Magisterial Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, who set bail at $10,000 straight cash.
