Schuylkill County is gearing up for the 2018 elections.

At the request of Voter Registration/Election Bureau chief Frannie Brennan, commissioners on Wednesday approved the annual AL Software license for the year 2018 with Election Systems & Software Inc., from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2018, at the price of $26,745.

They also endorsed six men as executive board members of the Schuylkill County Fire Chiefs Association.

They are Frank Zangari, Girardville; Dave Sattizahn, Pine Grove; Jason Witmier, Pottsville; John Matz, Deer Lake/West Brunswick; Gary Witmier, Pottsville; and Scott Krater, Port Carbon.

They also endorsed four men as advisory board members.

They are Jack Messner, Pottsville; John Kellman, Pottsville; Art Connely, Tamaqua, and Glenn Sattizahn, Schuylkill Haven.

On behalf of the coroner’s office, commissioners approved a contract with Dr. Mary Pasucci of Hazleton Pathology, Sugarloaf, to provide autopsy services for the coroner’s office.

The contract runs from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2018.
