Perfect weather for in-town skiing

By 6 p.m. Tuesday, snow was falling heavily in Tamaqua area and deep enough to prompt at least one resident to take to cross-country skis. Claire Hoherchak-Burns of Hometown glides along Cumberland Avenue for a breath of fresh air and a glimpse of snow-white scenery. Hoherchak-Burns, a Jim Thorpe native, teaches health and physical education at the L. B. Morris School and says cross-country skiing is a beneficial form of cardio exercise for those willing to try.
