The Tamaqua Remembers initiative is planning a number of events leading up to Memorial Day 2018, which will be the 150th observance of the national holiday.

Organizers are hoping the area will be awash in red, white and blue for the entire month of May.

To help that happen, a patriotic wreath-making session will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Feb. 28, at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua. The instructor will be Christine Zizelmann.

The registration fee will cover all materials and instruction.

Any proceeds will benefit Tamaqua Remembers.
