If you come down with the flu, follow this advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
• If you are considered high-risk and are experiencing any symptoms, contact your health professional immediately
• If you are not in a high-risk category but are sick, stay home from work or school and limit your exposure to other people
• Only go to the emergency room if you are very sick
• Drink plenty of liquid (water, sports drinks, broth) to stay hydrated
• Treat symptoms with over-the-counter remedies as recommended by your doctor or pharmacist
• Only return to work or school when your temperature returns to normal for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine
