Carbon County union, nonunion position salaries set

Union and nonunion positions in Carbon County’s government were established by the members of the Carbon County Salary Board when it held its reorganizational meeting on Jan. 2 in the Courthouse Annex, Jim Thorpe.

For positions under the umbrella of the commissioners’ office (non-court and non-row office positions), the salary board consists of commissioners Wayne E. Nothstein, Tom J. Gerhard and William J. O’Gurek and Controller Robert M. Crampsie.

They voted this week to establish the following positions and salaries:

Animal shelter: one county animal warden, $14.22 per hour; two part-time K-9 officers, $9.83 per hour.

Archives: one archivist/records manager, $17.49 per hour; and three part-time clerks, $9.54 per hour.

Area Agency on Aging: one administrator, $56,043 per year; one aging care manager supervisor II, $42,198 per annum; one aging care manager supervisor II, $38,610 per annum; one senior center services director, $41,067 per annum; one aging care manager III, $16.33 per hour; one aging care manager II, $19.33 per hour; one aging care manager II, $18.22 per hour; two aging care manager II, $15.25 per hour; two aging care manager II, $14.81 per hour; one aging care manager I, $14.26 per hour; one clerk/typist III, $16.36 per hour; one aging case aide II, $12.31 per hour; one aging case II, $11.95 per hour; one part-time community health nurse I, $22.77 per hour; one part-time senior center operator I, $13.18 per hour; two part-time senior center operator I, $12.07 per hour; one part-time senior center operator I, $11.72; and one part-time senior center operator I, $11.38 per hour.

Buildings/grounds: one operations/maintenance director, $50,000 per annum; one part-time cleaning person, $10.63 per hour; three part-time cleaning people, $10.02 per hour; one part-time maintenance, $9.54 per hour; and two summer laborers, $9 per hour.

Children & Youth Services: one administrator II, $66,924 per annum; one county casework supervisor I, $45,688.50 per annum; one county casework supervisor I, $41,827.50 per annum; one county casework supervisor I, $38,278.50 per annum; one accountant II, $22.09 per hour; one county caseworker II, $19.71 per hour; two county caseworker II, $19.13 per hour; two county caseworker II, $17.50 per hour; one county caseworker I, $16.99 per hour; one county caseworker II, $16.01 per hour; two county caseworker II, $15.55 per hour; two county caseworker I, $14.10 per hour; one fiscal assistant, $15.28 per hour; and one secretary III, $13.32 per hour.

Commissioners’ office: officeholders, Commissioners Wayne Nothstein, Tom Gerhard and William O’Gurek, $67,834 each; one county solicitor, Atty. Daniel Miscavige, $55,510 per annum; one county administrator/chief clerk, Eloise Ahner, $75,038.60 per annum; one assistant chief clerk/office manager, $44,262.50 per annum; one administrative assistant/parking coordinator, $14.35 per hour; one executive secretary/open records officer, $44,917.60 per annum; one fiscal assistant/paralegal, $18.40 per hour; and one secretary III, $12.18 per hour.

Parking fund: one parking/meter attendant, $12.68 per hour; four part-time parking attendants, $10.02 per hour; two part-time parking attendants, $11.61 per hour.

Communications: one 911 manager, $56,929.60 per annum; one 911 addressing coordinator, $19.71 per hour; two part-time dispatchers, $14.84 per hour; seven part-time dispatchers, $11.72 per hour; and five part-time dispatcher/trainee, $11.27 per hour.

Cooperative Extension Service: one 4-H assistant, $15.29 per hour.

Corrections: one warden, $57,428.80 per annum; one deputy warden, $24.36 per hour; one work release/treatment director, $24.39 per hour; one sergeant, $22.32 per hour; three sergeants, $21.04 per hour; one sergeant, $19.83 per hour; one site coordinator/prison, $20.25 per hour; one administrative assistant, $19.71 per hour; one Live Scan operator/corrections clerk, $12.07 per hour; one part-time corrections officer, $13.45 per hour; one part-time corrections officer, $12.31 per hour; 19 part-time corrections officers, $11.60 per hour; and one part-time LPN, $22.52 per hour.

Economic development: one secretary III, $18.40 per hour.

Elections: one director, $38,638.60 per annum; and one department clerk III, $15.13 per hour.

Emergency Management Agency: one EMA coordinator, $47,320 per annum; and one administrative assistant I, $13.43 per hour. A position of temporary emergency planner/trainer in this department was abolished

Geographic Information Systems: one GIS director, $35,392.50 per annum.

Human resources: one director, $58,831.50 per annum; one assistant director, $21.26 per hour; and one human resources assistant, $13.99 per hour.

Human services: one accountant II, $27.98 per hour; and one administrative secretary, $19.33 per hour.

Information technology: one director, $65,416 per annum; one IT system analyst, $23.74 per hour; and one IT specialist, $15.42 per hour.

Parks: one director, $57,232.50 per annum; one gypsy moth coordinator, $29.35 per hour; one lead seasonal park ranger I, $15.98 per hour; one seasonal park ranger I, $15.42 per hour; three seasonal park ranger I, $14.97 per hour; three seasonal park ranger II, $12.68 per hour; one seasonal park ranger II, $10.63 per hour; two seasonal park ranger II, $10.32 per hour; four seasonal park ranger II, $10.02 per hour; two seasonal park maintenance, $11.38 per hour; one seasonal park maintenance, $9.54 per hour; three part-time seasonal park maintenance, $9 per hour; 12 lifeguards, $10 per hour; and one park attendant, $9 per hour.

Planning and development: one director, $48,794.20 per annum; one project coordinator, $36,418.20 per annum; one programs coordinator, $20.26 per hour; one administrative assistant, $20.90 per hour; and one solicitor, $1,300 per annum.

Purchasing: one purchasing manager, $23.46 per hour; and one assistant purchasing manager, $12.79 per hour.

Tax assessment: one chief assessor, $47,447.40 per annum; one assistant chief assessor, $19.90 per hour; two assistant chief assessors, $18.22 per hour; one administrative secretary, $17.69 per hour; and one solicitor, $5,000 per annum.

Board of Assessment Appeals: three board members, $183 per diem.

Tax claim bureau: one director, $45,663.80 per annum; one assistant director, $20.04 per hour; one administrative secretary, $16.69 per hour; and one solicitor, $10,000 per annum.

Veterans Affairs: one director, $34,379.80 per annum; and one veterans specialist, $12.93 per hour.

Workforce Investment Opportunity Act: one executive director, $76,089 per annum; one WIOA fiscal manager/Career Line fiscal agent, $28.78 per hour; and one administrative secretary, $20.49 per hour.

Pocono Counties Workforce Development Area: one administrator, $60,684 per annum; one intake officer, $20.30 per hour; and one TANF coordinator/case manager, $16.05 per hour.

Liquid Fuels Summer Program: three summer supervisors, $12 per hour; 18 summer laborers, $9 per hour; and one summer coordinator, $9 per hour.
