Lehighton state police report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents.

• A 36-year-old Polk Township resident is facing a citation for failure to confine his dog within the premises of his property. State police issued the citation on Jan. 2 at a residence on Beltzville Drive, Polk Township.

• State police issued a citation for harassment against Constontine Sarkidis after an incident at 7:20 p.m. Dec. 27 along Kleintop Lane in Eldred Township. Police said he was cited after he was involved in a physical altercation with a 34-year-old man from Saylorsburg.

• State police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that happened at 3:20 p.m. Jan. 2 on White Church Lane, Eldred Township.

Police said a 55-year-old township man is accused of damaging a vehicle owned by a 52-year-old woman from Chestnuthill Township following a verbal dispute between them.

• Two Monroe County residents of facing charges following an incident on New Year’s Day.

State police said a 26-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, both of Gilbert Road, in Gilbert, Polk Township, entered into a verbal altercation via phone which at some point led to the two pushing each other. Charges of harassment will be filed against the two.

• A 56-year-old Polk Township man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped by state police at 4:54 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Interchange Road and Scenic Drive in Polk Township. Police said they also learned the man was driving while his operator’s privileges are suspended because of a prior DUI offense.

• A theft was reported at 2:28 a.m. Friday in East Penn Township. The incident happened along Kaysea Lane. The victim is AT&T. Police said it was reported that someone damaged and stole existing wires. There were boot prints from inside the fenced-in area of the victim’s property.
