William J. Dodd Jr., 19, of Effort, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:09 a.m. Jan. 4 along Jonas Road in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he was driving a 2002 Ford Ranger eastbound when he lost control of the vehicle and it struck a tree along the northern shoulder.

Police said Dodd sustained possible injuries but refused treatment by ambulance personnel.
