Marian hosts Junior Leadership fundraiser

Marian Catholic High School students conducted a community project through Junior Leadership.

The project is intended to teach interpersonal skills, team concepts, and leadership skills while providing a service to groups within the area.

The projects for Junior Leadership for the Class of 2017-18 were: a Thanksgiving party for the students of Helping Hands, a Christmas party for the residents of Heritage Hill Senior Community, and a Christmas party for the students of Headstart. The students were given books and craft supplies and the residents of Heritage Hill received gifts from the Leadership students.

The ability to provide the gifts and refreshments came from Marian Catholic High School. The school permitted a “dress down” day and raised $515.

This is the third year the Marian community provided the necessary funds.

Any of the funds not used in the parties were donated to the three project groups.

The Board of Directors of Leadership Hazleton extends its sincere appreciation to Marian Catholic for its continued support of this worthwhile community project.
