New York manufacturer plans to relocate to Monroe County, expected to create 120 new jobs

A New York-based food manufacturer is relocating to Monroe County, bringing over 100 jobs with it.

Terrafina LLC purchased a 72,000-square-foot facility at 401 Oak St. in East Stroudsburg.

The company is currently located in New York City and is outgrowing its space, Terrafina founder and CEO James Locke said.

“As we have aggressively expanded in the last couple of years, we are excited to take the next step and increase our production capabilities at least fivefold to grow even more amazing products for our rapidly expanding customer base,” Locke said.

“The acreage, strategic location for production, and distribution amenities offered in East Stroudsburg in northeast Pennsylvania fit our expansion plans perfectly.”

The company produces sustainability-focused foods offering a variety of healthy snack options under its own brands and under private labels. The company blends nuts, dried fruits and trail mixes and offers a number of packaging and bulk options.

Terrafina hopes to create 120 new jobs and has received a $240,000 Job Creation Tax Credit that will be distributed upon creation of the jobs, as well as $54,000 in Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania employee training funding.

The company will also be applying for a $2,040,000 Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority low-interest loan.

Renovations to the building, including the purchase of furniture, computers and manufacturing equipment is expected to cost $4.1 million.

“The strong economic climate in Pennsylvania, combined with our prime location in the heart of the Northeast and the low cost of doing business, provides manufacturing companies that choose to locate here with a distinct advantage over their competitors,” said Gov. Tom Wolf said in a statement announcing the relocation.

“I welcome Terrafina to Pennsylvania and to Monroe County.”
