Snow forecast today, Monday night

One to3  inches of snow is expected to arrive midday today into this evening , causing some slippery travel later today.

On Sunday, additional snow showers or snow squalls are still possible, and may coat some roads with up to an inch of snow Sunday morning in parts of the Lehigh Valley, Pocono Mountains, and into far northwest New Jersey with the higher terrain more susceptible for an accumulation.

A widespread snow accumulation of 1-3 inches is expected Monday night.

Gusty northwest winds to 45 MPH may occur in the high terrain Tuesday night and Wednesday as abnormally cold air for early December arrives.

Today: Snow.  High near 34. North wind 3 to 8 mph.  Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly before 10pm.  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind around 7 mph.  Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. West wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. West wind around 6 mph.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 41. West wind 5 to 9 mph.

Monday Night: Rain and snow likely before 4am, then snow likely, possibly mixed with sleet.  Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43.

Tuesday Night: A chance of snow showers.  Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 26. Low of 7 Wednesday night.
