Man jailed on multiple counts

State police at Frackville said a Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident at 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 28.

Troopers said Christopher William Weston, 35, of Girardville, was the driver of a vehicle blocking traffic on West Ogden Street in Girardville. During the course of the investigation, police learned Weston was wanted on an outstanding warrant for unauthorized use of automobiles or other vehicles issued by District Judge Christina Hale of Frackville.

As Weston was being placed into custody he ran away. Police caught him on Richard Street and used a Taser on him. He continued to resist arrest but was eventually subdued. Weston was arraigned before on-call District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua, on charges of aggravated and simple assault, resisting arrest, escape, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and related offenses.

He was lodged in the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
