Cumberland driver facing DUI count

A Cumberland County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence after he was found with his disabled vehicle along Route 309 in Rush Township on Sunday morning.

State police at Frackville said Larry Benner, 78, of Carlisle, was found at 6:18 a.m. along Route 309 in the area of Dennison Street with his disabled 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Benner was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital South, South Jackson Street, Pottsville, for a blood draw.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending blood test results.
