Lansford woman injured in 309 crash

A Lansford woman was injured Saturday night in a crash on Route 309 in West Penn township.

The crash occurred at 10 p.m. as she was traveling north just before the Tamaqua border.

West Penn police report a motorist from Hazleton pulled from a private lot on the north bound berm into the path of the woman.

The woman's Subaru Outback station wagon struck the vehicle, causing her car to roll numerous times across the three lanes of the roadway coming to rest on its wheels on a private lot.

The woman was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a local trauma center.

Route 309 was closed over an hour. The West Penn Fire Company responded. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
