A Monroe County man is facing drug dealing charges following a traffic stop and the subsequent search of his residence.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers made a traffic stop at 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 23 at the Pen Mart in Pocono Pines, Tobyhanna Township.
The driver was identified as John Ehrhard, 48, of Pocono Pines. At the stop Ehrhard was found to have several grams of crack cocaine in his possession. The narcotics K-9 Creed was called to the scene and detected another, larger bag containing crack cocaine inside the vehicle. A further investigation showed that Ehrhard was delivering the drugs to a customer in the Pocono Pines area.
Police then conducted a search of Ehrhard’s residence, which revealed a large amount of cocaine and evidence of cooking cocaine into crack along with drug trafficking evidences, including scales, baggies and U.S. currency.
Ehrhard was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — cocaine, criminal use of a communication facility, possessing instruments of crime and possession of cocaine.
He is currently an inmate in the county prison in Snydersville.
