Walker Township aims to pass next year’s budget without a tax increase.
The township’s board of supervisors held a special meeting on Monday to discuss the 2018 budget.
Township secretary Ann Ostergaard said the proposed spending plan is finished and does not call for a tax increase.
“Everything remains the same as last year,” Ostergaard said.
That would once again leave the property tax rate unchanged at 5.54 mills.
Ostergaard noted that the 2018 road project is the only big spending project.
She said the township is currently in the process of securing financing for the project, though no timeline has been set.
The last time the township raised the millage was in 2015, when it upped the rate by 0.5 mills.
