Carbon man admits to drug counts, drunken driving

A Carbon County man entered guilty pleas in the county court on Tuesday in two pending drug cases and to a driving under the influence charge.

Luis Ernesto Colon, 28, of Lansford, pleaded to one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — marijuana, possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, and DUI.

Colon was arrested on the first drug count on Nov. 1, 2016, in Mahoning Township.

The investigation began when two Lehighton paramedic units were dispatched to the Mahoning Inn, along Blakeslee Boulevard, because two people were found unconscious in a room. Found in the room was Colon and Jessica Davis, 22, of Lehighton. Both were charged with various drug counts.

Colon was arrested on the second drug charge on Aug. 24, by Jim Thorpe police.

The DUI occurred on March 25, 2016, along East Alley in Lehighton, filed by state police at Lehighton. A blood test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

Colon is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing, ordering the adult probation to prepare a presentence investigation report.

Davis was scheduled to enter a guilty plea Tuesday to a count of possession with intent to deliver, but her case was continued to Jan. 15.
