Northern Lehigh’s Olewine headed to Misericordia

Northern Lehigh’s Jill Olewine will continue her academic and athletic career at Misericordia University in the fall.

The senior track and field standout was last year’s Times News Athlete of the Year. Olewine competes in the 100, 200, long and triple jumps, and will begin her fourth year on the varisty team in the spring.

In her Bulldog career, she has totaled 550.25 points and has been the team MVP for three years. She has captured gold medals in the long and triple jumps at leagues and districts, and earned a state medal in the long jump, finishing in eighth place.

The school’s record-holder in the long jump, Olewine also plays soccer and basketball. She was a First Team league selection in soccer and received Honorable Mention honors in basketball. She was also Northern Lehigh’s girls soccer scholar-athlete and holds the school record for career goals.

Olewine is also a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Leo Lions Club, and SADD.

The daughter of Melissa Williams and Jonathan Olewine, Jill plans to major in occupational therapy.
