Carbon County court — ARD

Ten first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program this week by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Jared P. Arndt

, 36, of Bowmanstown, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on July 11 by Palmerton police along Route 248. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and had his license suspended for 60 days.

Kyle Matthew Devlin

, 20, of Albrightsville, was placed for six months on a charge of loitering or prowling at night. He was arrested on Aug. 10 by Palmerton police for an incident in the area of Lehigh Avenue and First Street.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Thomas M. Ferguson Jr.

, 27, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for two years on a charge of terroristic threats. He was arrested on June 8 by state police at Lehighton for an incident in Penn Forest Township involving Matthew Streidel as the listed victim.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and have no contact with the victim.

David P. Gallo

, 49, of Coplay, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 4 by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Franklin Township. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.

He was assessed $450.

Paige Makenzie Kromer

, 19, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of theft by deception. She was arrested on May 16 by Palmerton police for attempting to sell a vehicle she didn’t own.

She was assessed $450.

Jessica Corrine Mattes

, 23, of Mount Bethel, was placed on a charge of DUI. She was arrested on June 3 along Route 248 at Palmerton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.10 BAC.

She was assessed $500 and her license was suspended for 30 days.

Rafael Evangelista Rodriguez Jr.

, 32, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 11 by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Geordi Gusick

, 24, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on June 16 by Lehighton police in the 200 block of South First Street.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Shebna Jones

, 33, of Jamaica, New York, was placed for six months on a charge of possession/sale/display of documents on a vehicle. He was arrested on July 21 by Jim Thorpe police in the 400 block of South Avenue.

He was assessed $450.

Jesse Marlin Miller

, 33, of Kempton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 28 by Lehighton police along Bridge Street. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.

He was assessed $550 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Cory Young

, 19, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on July 4 by Lehighton police in the area of South Second and Bridge streets.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program, and those charged with DUI follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
