Parades

• 110th annual Northern Lehigh Halloween Parade: 6 p.m. Saturday.

• Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade: 3 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine.

Other events

• Stroud Region Open Space & Recreation Commission is hosting a haunted trail event on Oct. 28. The Friendly Trail is 5-6:30 p.m. and the Haunted Trail is 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at Zacharias Pond Park. Rain date is Oct. 29, same times.

• Summit Hill Children’s Halloween Party, Saturday.

• Chestnuthill Township: scarecrow and pet parade Saturday.

• Ross Township: 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 28, at VanBuskirk/Haney park. Build a scarecrow then parade around the Ross Township Park on Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg. The West End Park & Open Space Commission will host the annual pet costume parade at noon. Build a scarecrow from 10 a.m. to noon then join the pet parade. The straw will be supplied, but participants must bring a frame, 3 to 5 feet, clothes and accessories. There will be prizes for both the pets and scarecrows. After the parade, scarecrows can be taken home or displayed in the park. All pets are welcome.

• Cemetery Walk in the old St. Matthews Cemetery, 4 p.m. Saturday, 102 Church Road, Kunkletown. Supported by the Eldred, Polk and Chestnuthill historical societies. Learn more about past residents, their lives and families at one of the oldest cemeteries in the West End. The hillside has uneven spots, so firm walking shoes are recommended. Cider and snacks will be provided. A $1 donation/person is requested to help defray costs. Most parking is on the east side of the church building. The old cemetery is on the west side of the building. For information, contact Norm Burger at 570-460-5753.

• Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua will host Trunk or Treat, a family-oriented Halloween activity, from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, at the church, 101 Greenwood St. Decorated car trunks in various themes will offer participating children up to age 10 with prizes and candy. To increase safety, Mauch Chunk Street will be closed between Market and Greenwood streets.

Coaldale: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Rain date 6-8 p.m. Nov. 1. The second annual trunk or treat is being held the same time at the Complex Field.

Eldred Township: trunk or treat, 2-3:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at Eldred Community Center. Trick or treat, 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Lansford: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Rain date is 6-8 p.m. Nov. 1.

Lower Towamensing: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28.

North Manheim Township: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31

Nesquehoning: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Palmerton: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28. Residents who want to participate should have their porch lights on. No rain date.
