Fern Ridge state police report incidents
State Police at Fern Ridge report the following incidents:
• A Monroe County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 6:27 p.m. on Oct. 7 in Chestnuthill Township.
State police at Fern Ridge said John Edward Trbuza, 54, of Pohopoco Drive, Brodheadsville, got into a verbal argument with a 57-year-old woman at a residence on Pohopoco Drive. The argument turned physical with Trbuza striking the woman in the head, troopers said.
Trbuza was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
• State police at Fern Ridge cited the driver of a Peterbilt 379 that was traveling north on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township when it struck the rear of a vehicle stopped in front of it.
Police said Alvin H. Wentzell, 76, of Saylorsburg, rear-ended a car when he looked away for a second and didn’t see a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze that was in front of him had stopped. The crash happened at 10:22 a.m. Oct. 17.
The driver of the Cruze, Leanne E. Menear, 48, of Sciota, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital-Pocono, for evaluation. Wentzell was uninjured.
• No one was injured when a vehicle crashed off Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township at 1 p.m. Oct. 15.
State police at Fern Ridge said Michael H. Morris, 19, of Effort, was driving the 2007 Ford Focus when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The car went off the roadway on the right side and struck a small pine tree before becoming disabled after it drove over the stump of the tree.
Morris and passengers, Jacob S. Rohrbach, 20, of Kunkletown, and Patrick C. Flannery, 19, of Saylorsburg, were not hurt.
Police said Morris was cited in the crash.
• Mikallah A. Daugherty, 21, of Albrightsville, sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 8:34 a.m. Oct. 10 at the intersection of Route 115 and Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township, according to state police at Fern Ridge.
Police said she was driving a 2001 Mazda Tribute that struck the rear of a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am operated by Sandra K. Kuzmak, 62, of Kunkletown. Kuzmak was stopped at a posted stop sign at the time, police said. She was not injured.
Police said the collision caused the front driver and passenger air bags of the Tribute to deploy.
