A look back: October 23, 1975

Carbon County residents apparently aren’t about to drink themselves to death. Or at least this would seem to be the case on the basis of data gleaned by the State Department of Health (although this might be left open to sober thought).

Statistics compiled by the department show the death rate from alcoholism in the county is zero, while the rate for the state as a whole is 1.2 per 100,000 population.

Incidentally, the same report shows the suicide rate for Carbon County residents is a rate of 7.7 per 100,000 population, compared to the state average of 11.3 per 100,000.
