Tamaqua man picked up on warrant

A Tamaqua man was placed in the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville on Oct. 12 after he was picked up on an outstanding warrant.

Dustin Oncay, 33, of Vine St., Tamaqua, was walking north in the 400 block of Rolling Mill Avenue at 12:30 a.m. when he came to the attention of an officer on patrol.

He was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear at the county prison in connection with a sentence imposed by the county courts.

Oncay had a small black bag that contained three bags of brown chunks he admitted were heroin, a glass pipe, 260 empty wax paper baggies and 200 empty plastic baggies.

He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
