Tamaqua Class of 1962 holds its 55th reunion

The Tamaqua Area High School Class of 1962 held its 55th anniversary reunion the weekend of Sept. 22-24, starting with attending the Friday night football game and in informal get together at La Dolce Casa Restaurant.

The formal reunion was held Saturday at the Top of the 80s in Conyngham Valley.

Darlene Reedy Zechman conducted a memorial service for deceased classmates, which included: Albert Ambrose, Dwight Baker, Arthur Beiblelheimer, Gloria Bresloski McHugh, Alfred Bubble, Robert Frantz, Michael Gazo, Carl Hafer, John Heitz, William Hoffman, Wallace Kistler, Diane Masaitis Wills, Edward Merkel, Ruth Ann Merkel Davidson, Leroy Miller, Richard Miller, Dorothy Morgan Hain, Albert Motz, Joseph Picciano, Kathleen Sedlock Klinger, Carol Shellhammer Fredericks, Conchetta Subacz Young, Nancy Tepo Yorke, Benjamin Wall, John Williams and Donna Zigmont Ghares.

Tom Eltringham served as master of ceremonies and live entertainment was provided by “It Takes Two.”

Classmates who traveled the furthest were Eugene Student from Florida and John Roemer from Minnesota.

Committee members planning the event were: Jimmy and Anna Mary Milot, Cheryl and Ernie Comisac, Yvonne Wagner Malay, Sally Mantz Mateyak, Tom Eltringham, Judy Brode Kellner, Louise Markel Schock and Darlene Reedy Zechman.

The weekend concluded with a Sunday morning breakfast.
