Chamber to honor businesses, volunteers

The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development will honor four businesses and three business professionals in Carbon County for their dedication and service to our community on Nov. 17, at the annual dinner at Blue Mountain Resort.

The “Anchors Away” Gala will focus on the great things happening in Carbon County and will feature the presentation of awards to Carbon County businesses, initiatives and individuals who have made a significant difference in our communities.

The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a happy hour, auction and networking reception. The dinner and program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The evening will also feature an overview of the CCEDC’s 2016-17 accomplishments with dancing following the program.

The awards will be presented to:

Business of the Year — St. Luke’s

Rookie Business of the Year — Jim Thorpe Massage and Wellness Studio

Tourism and Entertainment Business of the Year — Blue Ridge Real Estate Co. Resort Residential Division

Volunteer of the Year — Tom Connors, Weatherly

Young Professional of the Year Award — Lisa Perry, Mauch Chunk Trust Co.

Economic Development Project — U.S. Medal Powders Inc., Ampal

William H. Bayer Lifetime Achievement Award — Bernie Shea, Palmerton
