Pine Grove defeated Tamaqua in girls soccer action on Wednesday.

Tamaqua-Pine Grove

Pine Grove scored four goals in the second half to pull away from Tamaqua for a 6-1 Schuylkill League victory.

Rachel Edge had three goals for Pine Grove.

Emma Kuczynski scored Tamaqua’s lone goal.

Tamaqua took the JV game 2-0 on goals from Flo Rios and Baylee Reinhardt.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Lehighton-Pottsville

Lehighton posted a 41-14 victory over Pottsville.

Cam Knappenberger led the Indians (5-1-1) with touchdown runs of 28, 50 and 25 yards. He also ran for a two-point conversion and kicked three extra points. Hunter Crum,(50-yard reception), Kaden Burnell (11-yard run), and Devin Smith (50-yard run) also scored for the Indians.

Defensively, Zach Miller had a fumble recovery, Nolan Stein had an interception, and Austin Headley had two quarterback sacks.
