As the election grows near, I find that I, as someone who has lived in Lehighton since 1972, have great concerns about who are the best people to run our town, school district and country. As a retired school librarian, I do my research before I vote.

Who is running for office, why are they running, what are their qualifications for the office, how are they going to make my life better by their decisions are questions I want answered as I decide who to vote for.

I highly recommend Autumn Abelovsky for Lehighton Borough Council. Autumn grew up in Lehighton and then went on to college. She and her husband lived in the Lehigh Valley for a few years. I will never forget seeing Troy and Autumn in McDonald’s when Autumn was pregnant and her telling me that they were moving back to Lehighton because they wanted to raise their children here. They wanted their children to go to the Lehighton Area School District and to have the life you have living in a small town.

Autumn and her husband and children, her mother and her grandparents all live in Lehighton. She knows how four generations view life here. She also does her research, and will think about how her decisions will affect all ages. She is very interested and involved in all aspects of Lehighton life; and can usually be seen at whatever is happening in town. She is truly running for borough council to make living in Lehighton better for all of us.
