More than 50 in the pink in Tamaqua

More than 50 turned out Thursday for St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Pink Light Walk with a Doc, led by Dr. Joanne Calabrese. The event started with a discussion of breast cancer and its warning signs, described by Barbara Porambo, St. Luke’s mammographer. Porambo focused on the condition as it impacts males, a segment of the population often overlooked when it comes to breast cancer, she said. The one-mile walk, the third in an ongoing series, began at St. Luke’s Internal Medicine Office, 120 Pine Street, and meandered through downtown. DONALD R. SERFASS/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
