A Tamaqua man was cited by police after an argument at the Hang Loose Bar, 300 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, on Sept. 30.

Tamaqua Police were contacted by three women at 11:45 p.m., with one saying she had been struck in the face by Clyde Bachert, 58. She also said Bachert shoved her several times and demanded she leave the premises. The other two women confirmed her report.

Officers went to the bar and arrested Bachert, placing him in handcuffs.

At the police station, Bachert was told of the complaint. He admitted having an argument with the woman, who had been tending bar, but denied striking her. He said the argument was over the number of free drinks the bartender was giving out and the lack of a log in the register to track the drinks.

Bachert was cited for harassment.
