Police investigate retail thefts

Area police have reported on the following retail thefts:

• Emilio Jack, of Pottsville, was charged by state police at Schuylkill Haven following an incident at Boscov’s Department Store in the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Jack entered the store around 4 p.m. Sept. 18 and took a number of clothing items and left the store without paying for them. Charges were filed.

• Two people have been arrested at an adult book store in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven arrested John Singley, 38, and Rachel Markus, 36, in separate incidents at the Adult Shop, located off Route 61 in North Manheim Township. No addresses were given for either.

• A 49-year-old Kunkletown man is facing shoplifting charges as a result of incidents on Sept. 24 and 25 at the Country Junction store, 6565 Interchange Road, Towamensing Township. State police at the Lehighton barracks said the vice president of the store reported on Tuesday at 2 p.m. that the man stole two Stihl chain-saw blades from the store on the above dates.
