Citations issued in Tamaqua

Tamaqua Police released information on several recent citations issued by officers.

• Thomas J. Kehl,

27, of Delano and Sarah M. DeBenedict, 24, of Hometown, were cited for criminal trespass on Sept. 24 after they were found sleeping at 3:50 p.m. in a vacant apartment on Rowe Street. Police said they entered through the fire escape.

They were arraigned before duty District Magisterial Judge Christina Hale, who set bail at $25,000 unsecured.

• Frank J, Ditchey,

53, of Schuylkill Avenue, Tamaqua, was cited for simple assault and disorderly conduct after a fight on Sept. 24.

Police went to the 300 block of Schuylkill Avenue at 12:33 p.m. and found Ditchey arguing with another man, who was bleeding from the back of his head. There was also a small pool of blood on the sidewalk.

The victim told the officer he was trying to retrieve personal property from Ditchey’s garage when he was punched in the face, causing him to fall off the front porch and onto the sidewalk. Ditchey denied hitting the other man, but video footage from a neighbor’s home confirmed the victim’s version of events.

, 53, and Tracy Collins, 58, both of West Rowe Street, Tamaqua, were cited for public drunkenness after they were found stumbling along North Railroad Street at 10:50 p.m. on Sept. 21.
