John Fetterman, former Democratic candidate for Senate, will speak as a guest of the Carbon County Democrats for Progress.

The meeting will take place at the Inn at Jim Thorpe in the downstairs conference room at 7 p.m. today.Fetterman is the current Mayor of Braddock, the home of the former Carnegie Steel plant near Pittsburgh.In 2015, he ran for the U.S. Senate in the Democratic primary, receiving a 20 percent share of the vote against two opponents, Katie McGinty and Joe Sestak.He carried Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, a stronghold for Democrats in Pennsylvania.He has recently been mentioned as a possible candidate for lieutenant governor.
