Rush Township has agreed to dole out more than $72,000 to upgrade its fleet of vehicles.
On a 2-0 vote, the township's board of supervisors on Thursday agreed to purchase a 2018 police interceptor utility base AWD, and a 2017 F-350 XL 4x4, both from New Holland. Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni was absent. The police interceptor cost $35,700, while the 4x4 cost $36,528.Also on Thursday, supervisors agreed to award a contract in the amount of $21,200 to Tropp Contracting Inc., Pottsville, for equipment rentals with operators. The company was the only one to submit a bid.Other actionSupervisors also on Thursday:• Adopted the Fair Housing Resolution.• Announced that leaf and branch pickup will be as follows: Oct. 16-20, areas south of Route 54 and east of Route 309; Oct. 23-27, areas north of 54 and east of 309; Oct. 30-Nov. 3, areas south of 54 and west of 309; and Nov. 6-10, areas north of 54 and west of 309, including Quakake and Grier City.• Announced that trick-or-treat night in the township will be held from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 30.
