Lehigh County man gets state time after pleas in two cases

A Lehigh County man was sentenced to a state prison term after pleading guilty Tuesday morning in two pending criminal cases in Carbon County court.

Anthony Philip Borrelli, 31, of Slatedale, pleaded guilty to one count of loitering for an incident on July 4 and to a charge of false identification to law enforcement for an incident on July 30, both in Palmerton.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic accepted the pleas and sentenced him to serve one to 12 months on each count in a state correctional institution with the terms running concurrent to each other but consecutive to a six-month state prison term he is currently serving for a state parole violation. He is an inmate at SCI Frackville.The loitering charge stems from an incident in the area of 484 Lafayette Ave., where he was found by police. A charge of criminal conspiracy - criminal trespass was dropped in a plea bargain.The false ID occurred at Delaware Avenue and Third Street when borough police questioned him about his ID. At the time he had an active warrant but gave officers a false name. They learned his real identity and placed him under arrest.Nanovic also ordered he pay court costs of about $1,000.
