Western Pocono Women's Club

Western Pocono Women's Club is issuing an open invitation to interested women to come to a free buffet dinner and a meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 16, at Effort UMC to find out more about WPWC and to hear guest speaker Annette Atkinson, president of the Monroe County Women's Commission.The commission is an advisory group to the Monroe County Commissioners that seeks to identify the concerns and needs of Monroe County women and girls and provide opportunities to empower women and girls to reach their highest potential.She will speak about the "commission's vision to serve as a catalyst for change by drawing on the passion, spirit, and strengths of women to create a more equitable and supportive community."The club has also issued an invitation to the women from their Monroe County sister club, Pocono Mountain Women's Club, to be club guests for the evening.Contact Adele Argot at 717-933-4028 or
