Computer Classes

The Palmerton Area Library will be offering computer classes during September, October, and November. The first class will be Introduction to Computers and it will begin on Sept. 19. This class is all about learning the basics. Learn what your computer can do for you. Learn about the internet and email. There is no prerequisite for this class.The second class is Advanced, which includes Excel/Word and Microsoft Office. In this class you will learn to write letters, create documents, use spell check, the help menu and clipart. You will also learn how to learn how to create spreadsheets, labels, tables, charts and presentations. You should have a basic understanding of computers to take this class.The third class is called What Can you do With All Your Digital Photos? You will learn to organize your pictures and all about SnapFish and Shutterfly. Learn how to make photo books and gifts and use online printing options. This is a great class for everyone with lots of pictures on their phones. If you are interested in any of these classes please call the library at 610-826-3424. The 9 a.m. service is contemporary with more upbeat music including God's House Band. Communion is held weekly. Sunday school is also at 9 a.m.The 10:30 a.m. service is more traditional with the senior choir and traditional music. Communion is served in the pews the first Sunday of the month. Sunday school including the adult Sunday school is held at 9 a.m.This Sunday following the 10:30 a.m. service, the congregation will dedicate Ryman Hall, the new band shell, and the new playground equipment to the Lord's service. This will take place in the grove, weather permitting. A covered dish lunch will follow. Coffee, tea, water and lemonade will be provided.Pepper FestivalA Pepper Festival will be held at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Activities include Live music, beer garden, pepper sauces, Chili cook-off, jellies and jams, and food vendors. Admission is $3 and kids under 10 are free. For information visit
