Schuylkill County court - drug cases

A Tamaqua woman who was caught selling powerful painkillers will spend the next one to two years in state prison.

Sally J. Hartung,48, was charged by Tamaqua police with two counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; criminal use of communication facility; and intent to possess a controlled substance by person not registered after she sold selling Vicodin on Nov. 6, 2013, and with the same crimes on April 24, 2014.In June, she admitted to selling the drugs, pleading guilty to delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a controlled substance.Hartung was sentenced by Schuylkill County Judge Charles M. Miller.Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced three men on drug-related charges.Jonathan Evanco,23, of McAdoo, was charged by borough police with possession of a controlled substance he was not authorized to have and possession of drug paraphernalia.Dolbin sentenced him to 12 months on probation.Christopher C. Keer,28, of Coaldale, was charged by Coaldale police with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia on July 21, 2015.Dolbin sentenced Keer to three to 12 months in jail.Judge James P. Goodman sentenced a Nesquehoning woman to probation after a car crash.Mary M. Smith,52, was charged by Rush Township police with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle or property; failing to stop and give information or render aid; following too closely; passing on the left unsafely; and failing to drive at a safe speed on April 11.She pleaded guilty to an accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property and failure to drive at a safe speed.Goodman sentenced her to 12 months on probation and fined her $25.The remaining charges were dropped.Goodman also sentencedLeanna Vidzicki,32, of Tamaqua to 12 months on probation for giving false identification to law enforcement.Vidzicki was charged by Tamaqua police on Jan. 24.
