A van and a tractor-trailer rig crashed along Interstate 81 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County, at 8:16 p.m. Friday.

State police at Frackville said William G. Babcock Sr., 46, of Forestville, Connecticut, was operating a 1998 Plymouth Voyager northbound in the right lane while Robert M. Tyriw, 47, of Hop Bottom, Susquehanna County, was driving a 2009 Volvo tractor with trailer and traveling north on the Highridge on-ramp to I81.Troopers said Babcock suddenly swerved from the right lane onto the on-ramp directly into the path of Tyriw.Tyriw was unable to avoid a collision with the front of the tractor striking the rear of the Voyager.Troopers said two juveniles, males ages 11 and 14, sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention. Tyriw, Babcock and two other passengers were uninjured. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.Troopers cited Babcock for the crash.
