A Tamaqua motorcyclist was flown to a Lehigh Valley area hospital following a crash on Saturday about 1:15 p.m.

State police at Frackville said Jordon Flexer, 30, was operating a 2015 Indian make motorcycle southbound on Route 1013, near Chee Street, in Ryan Township when he lost control while traveling through a sharp right curve.The bike went onto the berm and overturned into a drainage ditch.Troopers said Flexer received numerous injuries and was initially treated by Ryan Township ambulance personnel.He was later flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.Flexer was not wearing a helmet, but troopers noted he was not required to due to his Class M motorcycle license.Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the Ryan Township Fire Company and Hometown Fire Company fire police.
