Marian Class of '57 holds reunion

Twenty-one members of the Marian High School Class of 1957 and their guests celebrated the 60th anniversary of their graduation with a dinner on Aug. 19 at Dean Anthony's in Jim Thorpe.

Dr. Pat Damico, president of the Senior Student Council, gave the welcome address. The invocation was given by John "Bill" Ward, vice president of the Senior Student Council.Following dinner, remarks were made by various class members, and Rose Mary Cannon was thanked for her efforts in organizing the event. A brief memorial service was held for the 28 deceased class members and class spouses.Senior Class Vice President James Furey closed the dinner program with remarks and an Irish poem. The remainder of the evening was spent renewing friendships.The Class of 1957 has held reunions every five years since graduation. After the 45th reunion, class members began holding annual picnics, which continued until recently.In addition to those mentioned, the members who attended the dinner were: Charles Bookstein, Roselyn DeMilio Clark, Shirley Dubosky Damico, Gloria Piscelli Daneker, Jacky Myers Dubosky, Mirella Sfarra Gazo, Anna Marie Marcon Guerro, Marie Pol Heffelfinger, Marigrace Kobrick Parfitt, Joseph Kamant, John LaBuda, Irma Ossana Leibensperger, Emmett McCall, Lee Schilling, Mary Lou Willing Sproule, Margaret Provaznik Unitis and Kathy Zovak Zvitkovitz.
