A Monroe County teen is facing charges following an incident involving a gun.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said at 8:52 p.m. Sept. 7 they were dispatched to Dorest and Devon roads in Pocono Farms East, Coolbaugh Township, for a suspicious man who brandished a firearm at the caller. On scene police located the man, age 17, and gave him verbal commands for him to show his hands and get down on the ground. The teen failed to comply and took off on foot, while pulling a handgun out of his pocket.After a short chase he stopped and again was given verbal commands. The teen then threw the weapon and was taken into custody. The teen was yelling for police to shoot him and kill him.It was later learned that the teen was also the caller, trying to set up a suicide by police. The teen was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation with charges pending.
