The Tamaqua Public Library's Young Adult Fall/Winter program will kick off at 6 p.m. on Monday. The group will then meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every month.Children's Fall Storytime begins the week of Sept. 18 and 19. Parents may choose from Tuesday or Wednesday sessions.Storytime sessions are held from 10 to 11 a.m. for eight consecutive weeks, ending on Nov. 7 and 8. Children up to the age of 5 are welcome.The ongoing book sale blowout will end on Sept. 16.For more information on any library events, call 570-668-4660.Spirit of ChristmasThe next meeting of the Tamaqua Spirit of Christmas committee will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesdayin the Tamaqua Community Art Center. Also during the month, members participated in the Schuylkill County Fair, bringing home numerous awards. Carol Kohn won Best of Show, while Mary Bridygham, Judy Kellner, Linda Leiby and Karen Winkleman earning several first, second and third place ribbons in the fresh flower, house plant and specimen categories.The club meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Zion Church Social Hall in Lewistown Valley.The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 26. Master Gardener Jen Clinton will be the guest speaker. New members are always welcome.
