State police report on Schuylkill County incidents

State police in Schuylkill County report the following incidents:

• State police at Frackville said Luis Angel Cruz Jr., of Bethlehem, was stopped for a traffic violation at 12:06 a.m. Sunday along Route 309 at Route 443 in West Penn Township. He was found to be DUI and his operating privileges were suspended for a previous DUI. Charges will be filed, troopers said.• State police at Frackville said Michael John Minrod, 50, and his son, Michael John Minrod, 30, went to the home of aNew Philadelphia man at 9:40 p.m. and punched and kicked him multiple times over his entire body causing redness and swelling.• State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred Saturday at 12:16 p.m. A vehicle was driven eastbound on Graeff Street in Cressona and struck a legally parked 2017 Kia Forte. The Forte was sideswiped on the driver's side, troopers said. The driver did not stop.• State police at Frackville said a traffic stop was initiated at 1:16 p.m. Aug. 29 along Pattersonville Road in Union Township. The driver did not stop as required, traveled a short distance, then stopped. He exited the vehicle and ran off. He was taken into custody following a short foot chase. The driver was identified as Jason Shedaker, 34, of Harrisburg. A check revealed he was wanted on a probation violation and was taken into custody. He is also facing charges related to the traffic stop.• State police at Frackville said Mary R. Huxley, 51, of Forestport, New York, was driving a 2016 Kia Sorrento southbound on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County when a deer entered the road in front of her. She was unable to avoid striking it. Huxley was not injured but the radiator on her vehicle was punctured and there were damages to the body/trim.• State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle at 9:53 a.m. Saturday along Route 443 (Suedberg Road) in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Samantha M. Lepre, 18, of Pine Grove, was driving a Cooper eastbound while Michael L. Turner, 61, of Temple, Berks County, was westbound operating a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Lepre attempted a left turn onto the on-ramp of Interstate 81 and into the path of Turner. Turner applied his brakes causing the back tire to lock up. The cycle skidded an additional 24 feet before striking the Cooper, which continued onto the ramp. The cycle struck the passenger side fender and front bumper area. A passenger with Turner, Cindy-Lou Turner, 61, same address, was seriously injured and taken to the Hershey Medical Center. Michael Turner sustained a minor injury while Lepre was not injured. Lepre was cited.
