The 1965 graduating class of Jim Thorpe High School will meet at noon Thursdayat Antonio's Restaurant on Broadway in Jim Thorpe.Members of the 1967 Jim Thorpe High School class will celebrate four years of breakfast gatherings on Monday. The group will meet at 10 a.m. at the Boulevard Restaurant in Lehighton.Church picnicSt. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will hold its annual church picnic at Memorial Park on Sept. 24, beginning at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday school classes on that day at the church. The Sunday school will take place for the children during the worship at a separate pavilion at the park.In keeping with the theme of God's Amazing Animal Kingdom, there will be a petting zoo for the children and everyone to enjoy.The church will supply chicken and hot dogs, beverages and paper products. Each family is asked to bring a bowl or bag of something to share, a cake for the cake walk and a prize for the bingo table.Community dinnerThe next free community dinner in Jim Thorpe will be served at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Race Street, from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 24.
