Power has been restored to a majority of residents in Tamaqua and surrounding areas.

More than 1,800 customers were without power. At 4:30 PPL listed 328 still without power.

According to the PPL Outage Center, power is expected to be restored by 7 p.m.

No cause was given for the outage.
